Wural Routs Inspector More
S|H*ciul Inspector Harris of the
pns toff ice department has lieen
here several days tlu* past wwk
inspecting the Jones City* rural mail
routes. He is making a thorough
inspect ion of the country with a view
establishing complete county service.
\\ hen this new county service
is inaugurated there will lie few
farmers in the county who will not
receive their mail daily and these
exceptions will lie farmers living on
road conditions making the delivery
of mail along them impracticable.
A numlier of changes may Ik* made
in the Jones City routes and Mr.
Harris states that Jones City will
probably Ik* given another route mak-

A Chance to Go Crssy
Here's your chance to go bug
house. Those who lit and died to
stablish the correct age of a girl
called 4 Ann" may step forward
again and hammer the eye of the
man who disputes Ids mathematics
iu the new problem which at the
present time is causing more anxiety
in the United States than the Pana-
ma Car ml.
Here is the problem:
A train one mile long starts from
the station at Jones. The engine
leaves the station and the conductor
waits until the ciiImhisc comes, when
he jumps on the cul oose and walks
forward over the train. When the
engine reaches Luther, which is nine
miles distant from Jones, the con-
ductor steps otf the engine. How-
far docs the conductor ride, and how
far does he walk?
Some say lie walks one mile and
the train goes eight miles, hence he
has traveled nine miles. Others say
lie walks all the way to Luther,
which is nine miles, ami rides nine
miles, making a journey of eighteen
miles. If he rides nine miles and
walks one mile, it is ten miles to
Luther.
lint you figure on it.

the silver medal. Thin is calculated
