With the whole country going
democratic this year, a democrat
i in the presidential chair and both
branches of Congress controlled
by democrats, with a democratic
governor, and democratic legis-
lature, it behooves Osage County
to stay in the democratic column.
It is the duty of every democrat
to get on his fighting harness
and keep it on until the Novem-
ber election. The party is being
assailed by the most corrupt and
year now being paid for that | vicious coalition ever known in
purpose is sufficient to build
every road in the state if hand- honest man should resent such
led properly and intelligently, methods.
His department is endeavoring to
promote the proper use of the
money and will ask the legisla-
ture to pass laws whereby good
roads can lie built.
The department of highways
has gotten out some splendid
bulletins on road work which
should be in the hands of all in-
terested and engaged in the work
of building roads. Col. Suggs
says that the increased taxes for
road purposes are unnecessary,
that three million of dollars per
wont stand for corrupt methods.
Pawhuska Democrats gave tl
one lesson in the recent
election, the county will j
them another in November.

Pawhuska Okla., Sept. 3, 1912.
The County Commissioners of
Osage county met with the
following members present: J.
L. Duncan, W. C. Price and R.
A. Correll.
J. L. Borrum presented a
petition alledging in the same
that in the fiscal year of 1911-12
that Borrum and Company a
partnership, composed of J. L.
Borrum and R. R. Russell were
assessed for that year with 1200
head of cattle that had been
assessed and taxes paid upon the
same in Texas, that they so in-
formed one A. M. Peck a deputy
tax assessor, but that he listed
said cattle for taxes in Osage
county for the year above ment-
ioned over the protest of the
above mentioned J. L. Borrum.
They ask in this petition that
the County Commissioners to in-
struct the County Clerk to can-
cel on the proper tax rolls the
taxes on the above mentioned
1200 head of cattle. They sub-
mitted as evidence that the taxes
had been paid for the year
mentioned a tax receipt showing
that the same had been paid in
Texas. Petition temporarily

thence south to a point where
the said range line intersects the
township line between townships
24 and 25 thence east to the
Washington county line, that the
same be cleaned up by the proper
officials and placed above quaran-
tine line. The same was grant-
ed.
The following resolution was
adopted:
We, the County Commissioners
of Osage county Oklahoma, in
regular session assembled, do
hereby make the following reso-
lution towit: Be it resolved in
view of the fact that Osage
county Oklahoma, has spent, and
is now spending considerable
money in tick eradication, and in
order to make the same more
efficient, that all cattle coming
into Osage county from Texas or
other infected points, should be
clear of ticks before entering
Osage county. Therefore it is
the sense of this Board, that the
State Board of Agriculture issue
such orders, and do all in their
power to assist the County
Board of Commissioners of Osage
county in this matter.
It is a further desire of the
Board if said order is issued as
prayed for, that the same be-
come operative on and after the
first day of January 1913.
It is further resolved, that this
resolution be spread on the min-
utes of this meeting and the
County Clerk is directed to send
a copy of the same to the Secre-
tary of the State Board of Agri-
culture at Oklahoma City.
