across the erid of the envelope:. ‘[Bid for surplus Indian lands,”
and the date pf the opening of bids. The lands will be sold for
one-fourth ip two years, one-fourth in three years, and one-fourth
in four years, respectively from the date of sale and shall be evi-
denced in each case by non,negotiable notes, tearing 6 per cent in-
terest, secured by non-negotiable mortgage on the. land purchased.;
A deed to the purchaser shall be executed by the applicant simul-
taneously, with the execution ofthe. mortgage, which deed and mort-
gage shall be approved by the Secretary of the Interior and fecordeil
in the register’s office at the expense of the purchaser. After being
approved and recorded thp.deed will be delivered to the purchaser
arid the notes and mortgages shall be deposited with the superin-
tendent and retained in his. office until, the entire purchase price has.
been paid and the mortgage and notes canceled and released. The
purchaser, with the consent of the vendor, shall have the right to
pay the entire amount of the purchase money and accrued interest,
if any, at any time and obtain the cancellation of the notes and
mortgages: Provided, That.at the time of. sale the purchaser shall
have the privilege qf paying all cash.
Purchasers shall pay. all costs of conveyancing and, in addition,
the following sum, towit: If the purchase price is $1,000 or less,
$1.50; if it .be more than $1,000 and less than $2,000, $2; and where
the purchase, price is more than $2,000, $2! 50, to be used by tbe
superintendent in charge for giving due public notice of thesaleas
herein provided..
