Criminal Cases.
The case of Kdward Male charged
with tho murder of a deputy mar-
shal who Is being prosecuted by the
United Stares Is a case that lias at-
tracted widespread attention. I.lsle
was convicted ot the killing which
took place In tho Osage reservation
while he was resisting arrest for a
minor offense. Ho has appealed for
a new trial on tho ground that tho
Indictment returned against htm does
not state whether ho Is an Indian or
