terested in tho Beaumont Held.
Tho company has shipped a well
outfit from tho Corsicana Held
and expects to commence work
on its well hero Monday. A com-
pany was organized yesterday

city. Thoro are now ten com-
panies within Oklahoma Couuty

News was received in this city
this afternoon which will revolu
tionize the oil situution here aud
throw conditions into tho wild
est sort of state if a very cleg'1
study of the conditions have not
led to wrong conclusions. This
news is tlio most hnportaut
which -has been given to tho
world sinco tho strike of tho
Beatty gusher. It is nothing
loss than a full Hcdgod active
and vigorous gusher at Sulphur
L.U. forty -threo miles east of
Beaumont on tho Southern Pa-
cific. Mr F. Wycho Greer sec-
retary of the United Oil Com-
pany of this city received a tel.
egram from his representative
at Sulphur containing this infor-
mation and Mr. Greer had tho
utmost confidence in the infor.
mation from the very bogiuniug
but the news was afterward
verified by a gentleman who ar-
rived here on this eveniug's
train direct froiil Sulphur and
who confirms the report in every
detail. This man is Mr. S. S.
Hunter ono of the wealthiest
and most prominent merchants
and citizens of Shrevoport La".
Tho wjll according to Mr.
Greer's telegram is on tho prop.
orty of tho Union Sulphur Com
pany and joins that of tho
Uniteu Oil Company 1200 feet
away. Mr. Greer is naturally
very much delighted over tl c
news but mora from the fuct
that it verifies his judgement in
going entirely out of the Beau
mont Hold and securing land un-
thought of by any of the Beau-
mont invostors than for the nd-
vprtisemont it brings him. The
United Oil Company has no do
siro for advertisement but Mr.
Greer's good fortune is very
gratifying to his friends horo.
The message received by Mr.
Greer states that the oil is heavy
and black in appearanco and
when it broke loose it went to
the top of the derrick somo six
ty feet high. It is thought the
oil is a much bettor grade than
the Beaumont product but this
is not doHnite for it will require
analysis to determine this point.
