NOT LIMITED TO RATES

lier citizens have selected at the polls
the men they want to control munici-
pal affairs for the next year or two.
Let everybody forget their sore
placen if they have any and get be-
hind the new administration and lend
it every assistance possible. These
men deserve the heartiest co-operation
and support from all the people
of the city. Civic: pride is strong in
Vinita people and we are going to
build a city here. This Is going to
be a great year the greatest In our
history as a city and the united and
aggressive effort of every interest in
tho city la demanded. We have an
excellent council and school board
and let ua stand by them.

The election law of Oklahoma may
not be perfect but it certainly Is n
great improvement over the old time
way ot voting in Vinita. Time was
when a ward heater cuuld take a few
silver dollars and turn an election
I nner the system now in vogue it n
voter were to sew his privilege there
would be no way of as ertalning
whether or not he had voted as paid
nnd as a consequence no one cares to
risk money on a purchase so uncer-
tain. In the olden days the ballot
could be filled out by a "worker" and
the voter could lie watched until h
handed the ballot to the Judge. The
new law In this respect at least b
a welcome Innovation.
