' Literary Societies.
On Saturday afternoon Jan. 2 the
Sequoyah Literary Club met wit h Mrs.
W. P. Thompson. Longfellow was the
subject under discussion. Mrs. Dennis
Wilson prepared a paper on the sub
ject which owing to Mrs. Wilson's
absence was read by Mrs. Drake.
J he next meeting of the club will
be held next Saturday afternoon at
2:.'S0 with Mrs. J. W. Sanders at the
home of Mrs. J. B. Turner at which
