Indian Territory is making a
determined effort to overtake Ok-
lahoma in the national banking
business and she is making tre-
mendous etudes in that direction.
During the last year she has gained
on her sister territory more than
two millions of dollars in the ag-
gregate resources and liabilities
accounts of her national banks.
This is the more remarkable as
Oklahoma has made almost phe.
nominal progress in the national
banking business in the last year.
One year ago the total resources
and liabilities of the combined
national banks of Oklahom was a
little less than $13000000. Today
tbey are $14804275.03 an in.
crease of nearly two million dollars.
In Julv 1901 the aggregate re
sources and liabilities of the na
tional banks of Indian Territory
wea a little less than $7000000.
Today it is $10847736.66. This
is a gain during the year of nearly
four million dollars the greatest
percentage of increase recorded in
the national banking business in
any state or territory in the Union.
