served two years as police judge and

declined a re-olectlou on account ot tho

On Wednesday night Mrs liarnes
packed her trunk with a large assort-

with instructions to havo it cheeked

bad opened his 'heck room a young
woman named Audrey Phillips who

several weeks alighted from a carri-
age at the station. When the baggage-
man appeared tho strange woman
calmly pointed out Mrs Karnes' trunk
(the only one in sight) and showing
her ticket had the Saratoga chocked
to Paris Tex. The trunk went south
and so did tho woman. At Ft. Worth
tho woman had tho trunk reobecked
to Dallas. Wbou Mrs liarnes ap
peared at the depot next morning she
was short ono trunir and the visit to
Ohlcago was declared off. Tbo gov-
