An ordinance to cancel unuul and
releane the special taxes authorized
to be levied and to release and can-
cel the lien created thereby under' the
provisions of Ordinances Noa. 358 and
UC4 or the city of Chli-kaha Oklaho-
ma ko fur as the same relate to lots
Nos. 1 2 'i 4 ii and.in block No 40
as shown by the recorded official plat
of the Bald town of Chlclaisha Okla-.

Whereas the owners of lots 1 2 3
4 5 and (! block No. 40 as hown up-
on the official government plat of the
original towqslte of Chickasha Indian
Territory now ChickaKha Oklahoma
are about to Hell to the I'nited States
government for use an a Bite for the
erection of a postofflce or public build-
ing thereon and
Whereas the I'nited States govern-
ment requires said land to be clear of
all liens and incumbrances before it
will accept title to the game and '
Whereas ordinances Nos 358 and
3C4 passed and approved by the city
council of Chickasha Oklahoma on
the 8th day of April and the 20th day
of May 1909 respectively provided
for ceVtaln special Improvements to be
made for which said above described
lots would be liable to special assess-
ment for the payment thereof and au-
thorized the issuance of certain bonds
and other obligations by said city of
Chickasha Oklahoma in event the
cost of said special Improvements
were not paid by the owners as provid-
ed by law and
Whereas the costs of said special
improvements as ascertained and as-
sessed against said several lots were
not paid as provWed by law and bonds
have been issued for the payment of the
same which said bonds are a lien
against flaid lots and
Whereas a portion of said lien re-
mains unpaid to be levied and assess-
ed and collected from year to year as
provided by law and
. Whereas the owners of said lots de-
sire to have said lien discharged and
have palu to the city treasurer of the
city of Chickasha Oklahoma the full
amount of the costs of said special Im-
provements and all interest and ex-
penses that can accrue against said
oroperty for the full term for which
the bonds were Issued to pay for said
improvements and
Whereas It is deemed to the best
interest of the city of Chickatha to ac-
cept said payment in full settlement
of all liabilities on said lots for the
payment of the costs of said special im-
provements all the bonds issued there-
fore and to release and cancel the lien
created by any bonds issued in pay-
ment of said special improvement's and
relea.se and discharge faid lots from
any special assessments hereafter to
be levied for payment of the same.
Now therefore be it ordained by the
mayor and the city council of the city
of Chickasha Oklahoma:
Section 1. That payment of the full
amount charged and taxes against lots

shown upon the official government
plat of the town of Chickasha Indian
Territory now Chickasha Oklahoma
as authorized under Ordinances Nos.
3.j8 and 'tf4. pissed and approved on
the 8th day of April and the 2uth day
of .May 1W0!I be and the same is here-
by acknowledged to have been paid
in full to the city treasurer of the city
of Chickasha Oklahoma.
Section 2. That the iien on said lots'
1 2 3 4 5 and j block No. 40 as
shown upon the official government
plat of Chickasha. Indian Territory '
now Chickasha Oklahoma and all
right title and claim of the said city
or ChickaKha Oklahoma against said
lots arising by reason- of said Ordi-
nances ::r8 and SiU or on account of
any bonds issued to pave or any spe
cial improvement'- made chargeable to
said lots as provided in said snecial
Improvement ordinance be and the
same is hereby annulled released and
cancelled.
Section 3. Thai the said city clerk-
be and he is hereby authorized direct-
ed and instructed io cam-el and re
lease en'ul Hi ii en the .". stssmcut rec-
ords of his office and ia:it hereafter no
tax be levied or ctuTeeted by the city
ol Chickasha.' Oklahoma against either
of said lots 1 2 3 t. 5 i.nd S block
No. 40 of the city of Chickasha Okla-
homa for the payment of any part of
the cost of improvements charged
against said property under said Ordi-
nances Nos. 3".8 and 3 J4 passed :uid
approved on the 8th day of April and

Section 4. That the city treasurer
of the city of Chickasha. Oklahoma be
authorized to accept from the owners
of the said above described lots the
amount due as princii i.I and interest
chargeable against said lots on ac-
count of any special improvements
chargeable to them under said ordi-
nances and that upon' bis accepting
such payment said property he there-
after fully released . and discharged
from any obligation for the payment
of any sum as taxes or 'Otherwise on
account of said special improvements.
Section f. That all ordinances and
and the 20th day of .Vay 19u9 in con-
flict with any of the provisions of this
ordinance be and the same are hereby
repealed In so far as the same relate to
said lots J 2 3 4 3 and 0 in block
No. 40 of the city of Chickasha Okla-
homa. Passed and approved by the mayor
and councllmen of the city of Chicka-
sha Oklahoma this 9th day of Ausust

ELECTION PROCLAMATION.
By virtue of the authority vested In
me by the constitution and laws of the
state of Oklahoma and pursuant to an
ordinance duly passed by the mayor
;and councilmen of the city of Chicka
sha In the county of Grady in the state
of. Okkaloha at a regular meeing
thereof held on the 2nd day of Septem-
ber A. D. 1909 the same being Ordi-
nance No. 390 public notice Is hereby
given that a special election Is here-
by ordered and proclaimed to be held
In said city of Chickasha on the 28th
day of September A. D. 1909 for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified
property tax-paying voters thereof the
propositions of said city of Chickasha
of incurring Indebtedness by Issuing
its negotiable coupon bonds to the
aggregate amount of $90000.00 in or-
der to provide the necessary funds
for the construction of sewers In and
to be exclusively owned by said city
and the further proposition of said
city of Chickasha Incurring Indebted-
ness by Issuing its negotiable coupon
bonds aggregating the- amount of
$100000.00 in order to provide the nec-
essary funds for constructing ' addi-
tional waterworks In and to be exclu-
sively owned by said city said propo-
sition including also the further propo-
sition ot levying and collecting an
annual tax sufficient to pay the inter-
est on said bonds when due and also
to constitute a sinking fund for the
payment of the principal thereof with-
in twenty-five years from their date.
Said election shall be held at the
regular voting places or polls used in
said city at general stale elections
namely
Ward No. 1 Precinct 1 at Wells'
store; Precinct 2 at Womack store.
Ward No. 2. Precinct 1 at City Hall ;
Precinct 2 at Thompson store.
Ward No. 3- Precinct 1 at Court
House.
Ward No. 4. Precinct 1 Odd Fel-
lows' Hall; Precinct 2 Carnegie Li-
brary. The following persons have ueen
designated and appointed to act as
officers to conduct silti election:

county Oklahoma incur an indebted-
ness by issuing its negotiable coupon
bonds to the aggregate amount of
$90000 fur the purpose of providing

in and to bo owned exclusively by said
city; and levy and collect ar. annual
tax upon all the taxable property in
said city sufficient to pay the inter-
est on said bonds as it falls dim and
also to constitute a sinking fund for

act passed by the Oklahoma legisla-
ture on .March 6th and In force .March
13 1909 entitled "An Act Regulating
Elections In Cities and Towns; Requir-
ing Nominations by Frimaries; Pre-
scribing the Time for Such Elections;
Repealing Section is. Article 1 Chapter
14 of the Statutes of Oklahoma 1893
as Amended by Section 1 Article 1
Chapter 6. Session Laws ot Oklahoma
1897; Also Repe.xliu? Sections 9 and
10 of Article 1 Chapter 14 of the
Statutes of Oklahoma 1893; Also Re-
pealing Sections 12 13 14 15 J-: and
17 of Said Statutes of Oklahoma 18S3
and Declaring an Emergency" are per
milted to vote at said election.
Provided however that all electors
who are also property taxpayers as
aforesaid who have acquired the right
of suffrage since the last preceding
date on which the registratjon books
were opened for registration in said
city may be permitted to vote by mak-
ing affidavit showing their qualifica
tion.

and kept open continuously until seven
o'clock in the afternoon of said election
