I'ei formaiH e Here Saturday Night
One of the- ber-t oil Record
Ted K Faust's Superb Minstrels
with the spectacular first part en-
titled "Sunny Italy" was the at-
traction at the opera house here
Saturday night.
The audit nee was 11 )t a large
one but its dollars to doughnuts
they lieu r played to a more ap
preciative one.
Faust's Minstrels though new
on paper has within its personel
many well known minstrel stars
who guarantee jam a good show
by the simple fact of their names
icing on the program and those
who witnessed the pel formance
Saturday night pronounced il the
best minstrel that ever played in
Marshall.
There was no "Who What
When" about it you could see who
and what they when the curtain
went up and you did not have to
sit and think "when will some
thing happen to laugh at."
The war in the fire department
should be terminated at once. To
do effective work there must be the
most hearty co-operation between
the chief and his men.
More than five hundred have
signed the rolls of the democratic
club and the good work goes on.
The club will probably have a mem
bership of twice that number.
It will be a big success the
Stockmen's Convention and I'iue
Stock Show. The way in which
public spirited citizens are making
subscriptions i very encouraging.
Chickasha doesn't do things by
halves and this occasion will be 110
exception.
A grand row broke out in there-
publican district convention at At-
aka. Dynamite was used in the
discussions. Chairman Conlan
used a chair in defending himself
from a band of insurgents. "He-
boid how Uautiful it is for breth-
ren to dwell together in unity."
Sskcted Delegates
The republican club met last
night in Judge Payne's office and
selected the following delegates to
th': district convention which meets
at Pauls Valley March 12; R. F.

Alternates selected were as fol
lows: W. L. Peters. IL C. Davis.
Alf Miller II. L. Jarboe C. Fh
Rose K.IC Colby J.L. Westerman
Thos. liurke IL Hamilton.
The republican club has 530
members. The colored club has
150. The latter club also selected
elelegates to IVds Valley.

Lxperience told him what was
coming. lie at once told his wife
totake the children and go to the
-torni cave while he himself started
to let out the slock. It was only
a shoit distance but before he
could retiu n fire was falling like
ram loose planks from fences and
buildings were flying about and
the fire was taking ossession of
everything. The smoke and dust
were sufiVatiug. When Mr.
Courcier returned from the barn he
fell exhausted in th storm
cave.
Smoke was already thick in the
cave while the fire had reached
the house and it looked like all
avenues of escape would soon be
cut off.
Mrs. Courcier had gathered some
bed clothing before leaving the
house and wrapping the children
in these the party started to es-
caje through the lake of fire. Sev-
eral times their clothing coughtfire
and was with difficulty extinguish-
ed. Two hundred yards from the
house they fell exhousted. House

the flames almost invisible.
Summoning fresh strength they
continued 011 their way. The wind

driving them hither and thither in
the dust and ilarkn;ss. Groping
their way guided by wire fences
they finally reached the house of
Bud Coles a half mile away. Thev
were two and a half hours going
that dislance.
The next morning the place
where their former home stood
showed nothing but blackened
ruins. The house belonged to
Frank Plato
Mr. Courcier lost everything ex
cc pt his horses and cows. Some of
these were badly burned. Besides
household furniture he lost a large-
quantity of corn his cured meat
for the season wagons and other
implements.
