Manila P. I Aug. 13. A dozen
Moros surprised an outpost of the
Twenty-seventh lnrantry at Gamp
Vicars yesterday.
Sergeant Foley and Privato Carey
were- killed and Privato Vandorn se-
verely -wounded. Tho Moros were
armed with spears and swords. Tho
morning was dark aud foggy. Tho
attacking party crawled to within a
few feot of tho sentinels and then
sprang upon them suddenly. Tho en-
tire outpost rushed to tho relief of tho
sentinels but were too lato and the
Moros escaped although possibly a
few of them wore wounded. Tho
American sentinels wero terribly cut
hy tho swords and spears.
Tho Moros were from Dacolod and
tho occurrence probably wll result In
a movo against thotowh which has
a strong fort and other defenses.

chowskl and her husband were on
their way home lato Sunday night
when; a man rushed from tho bushes
and killed him. Mrs. Wlurchowskl
told tho polico that a robber commit
tod the crime. Mrs. WlurchowBkl
and JanaskI aro under arrest and last
night' two detectives went through
tho crime In mimic as nearly as pos-
slblo from Mrs. Wiurchowskl's de-
scription. Ono dctoctlve acted as es-

who came to Kingfisher Friday with

bry and Sergeant Thompson also of
Chandler. The rango will bo on tho

tion 14. Tho rango will bo set for
practice for distances varying from
300 to EOO yards.
The camp proper will be near tho
northwest corner of the park near
tho timber west of tho grand stand.
In the latter tho adjutant genoral
will have his headquarters. Thero

ficers a hospital moss and ono for
each xf tho three battalions.

afternoon as soon as tho piling with
