Cotton Seed.
A great number of the farmers
were disappointed yesterday by
the non arrival of the ear of
cotton seed which should have
been here. An investigation
shows that the car is somewhere
in transit this side of Cleburne.
Mr. (ialt informed every one
who wanted seed to be here
Monday morning when the seed
would be given out. As a mat-
ter of precaution to make sure
that we will have suffieent to
supply the demand W. R.
Moore has ordered another car
which will be here by Monday.
If the seed are not wanted by
the farmers he will store them
away in the oil mills. Our
merchants deserve much credit
for the hearty response given
Messrs. Gait and Noble when
called on to contribute.

Supplies Lost.
In Friday's Akdmokeite we
mentioned the loss of goods on
the ill-fated steamer Leoua be-
tween New York and Galves-
ton consigned to Sic: Simon &
Bro. We have since learned
that a portion of the supplies
for the electric light company
here were in the same ship and
were either destroyed by tire or
otherwise rendered unservicea
ble. This however will not
interfere with the work here.
