The Klondyke Key.
Before the undersigned authori-
ty on this day appeared J. D. Mc-
Vey and being duly sworn on bis
oath says that he resides about ten
miles west of Ardmore I. 'P. near
Cheek and is a farmer by occupa-
tion; that he made purchases of
goods at different times from Jake
A. Bodovitz of Ardmore and re-
ceived keys at different times as he
purchased in accordance with the
advertised announcement of said
Bodovitz; that he tried each key
as he received same and endeavor-
ed to unlock the Klondike box
and on Januar 1 1898 on trying
a key obtained as above he suc-
ceeded in opening said box and re-
ceived $3 from said box ; that he
acted in good faith and without
anv collusion or special agreement
with said Bodovitz.

B. F. Greenwood Dead.
After a several days' illness
of pneumouia B. F. Greenwood
who resided iu the north part
of our city died at 10:50 o'clock
last night at the age of 53 years
and 5 mouths. The funeral ser-
vices will be held at the resi-
dence tomorrow (Thursday) at
2 o'clock by Rev. S. A. Cald-
well of the Presbyterian church
followed by interment in the
South cemetery. Deceased was
well known iu Ardmore being
one of our early settlers.
Mrs. Mary Bird Harrisburg Pa.
says "My child is worth millions to

Wagon Yard Robbery.
Last night while sleeping in
his wagon in a wagon yard in
the city A. A. Burgess of Mars-
den was visited by a night
prowler who rifled his pockets.
The thief got away with Mr.
Burgess's watch but left him
the chain. He also took a pock-
etbook which luckily contain-
ed nothing but a deposit slip
for a sum of money which he
had put in the bank the day
before. There is no clue to the
thief.
Gilliam the infaut son of Al-
fred Jenkins died this morn-
ing at 7 o'clock of pneumonia
aged two days.
The Ardmoreite will be giv-

Physicians report an uuusual
amount of sickness in town.
There is a good deal of lagrinpt
dengue aud pneumouia. The
sick are reported us follows:
A. J. McLemore at the Ken-
tucky Housa is seriously ill
with pueumonia.
Fauuie the daughter of Dr.
Gardner is quite sick.
Mrs. John Easley is quite ill.
Jim Watkins is suffering
from a severe attack of pneu-
monia. John Lowe is quite sick.
Mrs. A. V. Doak is quite ill
with la grippe.
A child of J. C. Banks is af-
flicted with a severe case of
bronchitis.

The lecture "On the Brink of
Hell" at the Methodist church
last night like unto all previ-
ous lectures in this town met
with an Alaskan reception by
our people the majority of
whom have no desire appar-
ently to listen to a lecturer.

There was an exodus from
this famous resort today which
included the vagrants arrested
last Friday who have been in-
structed to leave town forth-
with. Those out today are
Chas. Pinkerton time out; Joe
Smart one of the Dougherty
cattle thieves gave bond. The
vagrants out are Buford Hays.

Commissioner Bradford today
on a charge of vagrancy. The
charge was dismissed against
them conditioned that they
leave Ardmore before tomor

fined $20 and costs.
