Medicine?
yrom Sylvan Valley News. Brevard N. c.
It may be a question whether the
editor of a newspaper has the right
to publicly recommend any of the
virion proprietary medicines which
flood the market yet as a prevent-
ative of suffering we feel it a duty to
say a good word for .Chamberlain's
Colic Cholera and Diarrhoea Kem-
dy. We have known and used tbie
oiadicioe in our family for 20 ytars
aod have always found it reliable.
Ia many cases a dose of thia retried
wo aid save hours of suffering while a
pby jician ia awaited. We do not be-
lieve in depending implicitly ou any
medicine for a cure but we do be-
lieve that if a bottle of Chamber
lain's Diarrhoea Remedy were kept
on hand and ad ministered at the In
ception of an attack much suffering
might be avoided and in very many
cases the presence of a physician
would not be required. At least tbi3
bat been.onr experience during the
past twenty years. Bold by City
Drag Store and T. N. Coleman.

Washington July ll. Tfce admin-
istration's handling of thelerrible
situation in China is-caasinj severe
criticism even amdngib leading re-
publicans. Coionelllepburn of Iowa
one of the most prominent adminis-
tration men ia the boose said this
evening that the sending of fc.OOO men
to China to protect American lives
and interests waf not patriotic but
on the contrary was grotesque.
": Colonel Hepburn' Intimated that
the civilized world is now confronted
by the gravest problem it baa here-
tofore encountered. .Her eaid that
China had been for years preparing
for thia emergency. It had not only
been having an army drilled by Eu
ropean officers but had purchased
900000 stands of arms the best in
the market; that this immense arma
ment was being rapidly duplicated
in the arsenals of the Empire situat
ed far in the interior: that if anyone
believed for an instant that the peo-
ple who had. invented gunpowder
and the needle could not with ease
and facility of experts duplicate the
manufacture of rifles and cartridges
they were much mistaken.
He said further that the Chinese
Empire could with ease place 60'
000000 men in the field in less than a
year well armed and equipped. He
severely criticised the administra
uon for the manner in wbicb it has
bandied the matter and for not call'
ing congress together to deal with it
tie said that congress was the only
war making power and intimated
that the administration was trans
cending its constitutional authority
in pursuing its present course.

of this acid coison reaches the skin and it become red and inflamed. The itching and burning are
almost unbearable especially when overheated from any cause. The skin seems on fire sleep or rest is
impossible tbe despei ate aufierer regardless of consequences scratches until strength is exhausted.
This burning itching humor appears sometimes in little pustules discharging a sticky fluid which
forms crusts and scales. Again the skin is dry hard and fissured itches intensely bleeds and scabs over.
This is a painful and stubborn form of the disease.
While Eczema Tetter Erysipelas Salt Rheum aad many like troubles are spoken of as diseases of
the skis they are really blood diseases because
THERE CAN BE NO EXTEnHAL IRRITATION
WITHOUT AN INTERNAL CAUSE. :
If the blood is in a pure healthy condition no poisonous elements can reach the skin.
External applications of washes lotions ana salves sometimes mitigate the itching and soothe tbe
inflammation but cannot reach the disease. Only S. S. S.. the real blood medicine can do this.
S. S. S.. the only purely vegetable remedy known is a safe and permanent cure for Eczema and all deep-seated blood and
akin troubles. It goes direct to the seat of the disease neutralizes the acids and cleanses tbe blood re-mtorcea and invigorates

You'd like to bring with you come.
Or if you know some one who'd
We'll gladly give you two
So don't forget tbe place and date
We'll answer when yon knock.
And welcome you with open arms.
But don't forget your sock.
