A Company of Loci Capitalists Oritan-

mense Lake -Oilier Features.
On Friday there was perpetuated
in this city the organization of a
company composed of ioea! public
spirited gentlemen having for its
object the affording of a convenient
piace of amusement and thus adding
another important feature to Ard-
more"s superiority over all other
towns in the territory. Tho com-
pany is capitalized at $1500 and ia at
present composed of the following
well known gentlemen viz: Arthur
Walcott A. .j. u olverton J. ti. fjpra-
gins W.O. Dston L. L. (Salt I. R.
Mason 1. Y. Phillips li. F. Frens-
ley C. L. Byrne F. V. Gracie W.
A. Ledbettcr and Lee Crucs. A tract
of land has been secured two and a
half milc-s north of town and it is I lie
purpose cf the company to improve
and beautify this property and to
construct a lake that will cover thir-
ty acres of ground giving a body of
water from fifteen to thirty five feet
indepth. This will be stocked with
fish and sail and row boats will be
provided for the amusement of the
joang folks.
Lee ( ia.lt has been awarded the
contract of construction and will be-
gin work at an early day. There
will be a.iother meeting of the pro-
motors Monday night for further ar-
rangements of details.
This undfci taking is a most com-
meuduble one and cannot fail to
redowu to the best interests of the
eity. Mr. Gait informs the Akdjiobe
Te that the supply of water is inex
haustible and that a never failing

in the South. The Ardmokeite is
pleased to rote the above progres-
ive step and bespeaks for its pro-
nators the success their enterprise
