A BOLD FIGHT
The Santa Fe, the Rock Island
and other lines of railroad in Okla-
homa are at this time putting up a
bold fight against the people of this
state in the hope that they may be
able to get a decision of the United
States supreme court whereby the
two-cent fare law and other rate
measures embodied in the constitu-
tion of Oklahoma may be declared
unconstitutional, and thus again
give them the unlimited power that
they enjoyed before statehood.

ion of the Santa Fe and the Rock
Island. These two corporations in
particular are the most grasping of
any we have to contend with in this
part of the country, and will stop

teen years to stick out, and then
calmly say, seven years in the hole
and thirteen years out makes twenty
years—very simple, just a matter
of figures. In other words the
seven years you did not have it
plus the thirteen years you will
have it makes twenty years in all,
or a twenty-payment life policy."
The above clearly illustrates why
Mr. McComb chose to chop off about
fifty per cent of the published as-
sets of the company.
