over in their new car, Thursday
night of last week, to Mounds to
enjoy the Ghautauqaa. They

their attendance up to a high
average; but the men lag far in

Mrs. Jessie Ful bright lias
been ill for some time, hut is
now much improved.
The Angel sisters are now
back into their Sunday sfthooi
class, after a long siege with
small pox.
The third quarterly meeting
will lie held at Jenks next
Wednesday night. Because of
this there will be no prayer-
meeting at Bixb.y on that
night.
Mrs. Poor man united with us
last Sunday. Her daughter,
Miss Bertha, came in on the
preceding Sunday. They form
quite an addition to our working
force as both are earnest and
enthusiastic in their church
work. They formly belonged to
our church at Ralston, Okla

at the church Sunday afternoon
at 3 o’clock. Let us be prompt,
so as to be out. early enough for
a good rest before the evening
service. The new officers, will
be installed at H p. m.
Next Sunday morning the
subject for the pastor’s sermon
will be "Who is the Lord?1’ At
the evening hour it will he
“What is Man?”
Rev. and Mrs. Myles came
down early in the week and are
busy erecting a nice new
residence on their lots just east
of the school grounds. The
Reverend will leave Saturday
for his service at Avant on
Sunday; but will return here
Monday.
Sunday School meets prompt
ly at 10 a.m. It adds much to
the work to have both teachers
and pupils out on time.

James Head and his wife had
two sons, both under eighteen
(the legal age for military ser
vice) but .unusually tall and
strong for their years A
neighbor who had bqen drafted

tute. Head took the money a
gainst the mothers agonized en
treaty, and sent the boy who
soon was killed. Not. long after

the offer. In a few months the
second son also lost his life.
The mother never again held up
her head.
The same thing could happen
today if the supply of vounteers
