The Democrat Constitutional
Convention of the 19th district
will be held at Ripley on Sep-
tember 28th, and for the 20th
district at Matena on the 25th.
Do you want a referendum
vote on the question of consti-
tutional prohibition? If you do,
vote for the democrat candidate
for the constitutional delegate.
We wonder if Freeman Miller
considers the initiative and ref-
erendum a Pabst Brewing Com-
pany scheme. It provides for
submitting questions to the
people for their vote.

Honest Tom Ferguson was
nominated for congress on the
thirtieth ballot by the repub
licans of the second congress o »•
al district, Monday. -Mirror.
The Republicans aeem to *je
very much divided. We find
that a great many of them do
not agree with the Mirror.
They are not backward
about saying that Tom is not
honest, and that he is control-
led by the railroads. In fact
we have heard that a number
of Republicans made affidavits
that Tom is not honest and that
le should have been removed as
governor.
Why should there have been
gerrymandering? What do the
republicans want to put into the
constitution of Oklahoma that
the democrats do not want?—
Stillwater Gazette.
In answer to the first of the
above questions we will say
"Because the Republican party
wants to control the^ constitu
tlonal convention.'' To the
second question we will answer,
"The Republicans want to form
the legislative and judicial dis
tricts of the new state, and form
them so that a Republican leg
islature can be elected and a ma-
jority of the judges elected from
the Republican party." This
the Democrats do not want.
