The Oklahoma Cotton Growers' A»-
aoclatlon is formed of, by and for Ok-
lahoma cotton farmers for the sole
purpoee of selling the cotton ot Its
membera co-operatively through Its
own hired marketing specialists, se-
curing for the producer the best possi-
ble price.
It is a business marketing organiza-
tion composed only of actual cotton
growers. It is not a social or fraternal
order. It will have nothing to do with
politics. It is not to be affiliated with
any other organisation, government,
Kate, or private. Its business is to
sell cotton, nothing else.
The plan of organization of the Ok-
lahoma Cotton Growers' Association ia
the same plan which has brought pros-
perity to more than eighty thousand
farmers in California. It has been giv-
ing aatiafactory service in Denmark
for tHb past fifty year*. It 1b not an
experiment.
The marketing agreement of the
association is drawn by Aaron Sapiro,
probably the best informed man in the
I'nited States on co-operating market-
ing. Mr. Saplro la a San Francisco at
forney and Is the legal representative
of moet of the larger co-operative
growers' associations of California. In
fact, he is largely responsible for the
plan under which they are operating.
The marketing agreement Is legally
binding and covers a period of seven
years. This contract covering a per-
iod or years, enables the association
to go on any market with something
to sell. It Is sure of having cotton to
sell next year and the next and so on.
it could not afford to build up the nec-
essary selling organliatlon to'operate
for only one year with no definite as-
surance that it would ever have cotton
to sell again.
Briefly, this Is what the assoi atioo
will do:
Grade, clasa, staple and weigh
each bale. Thla will place a true value
on the cotton in terms of quality.
2. It will warehouse and store cot-
ton wherever and whenever necessary. I
This will at once reduce the tremend- !
ous loss from "Country Ihimage."
3. It will sell all of Its cotton in
even running lots, each grade, class
and staple within its own pool. This
will insure a better price than could
be obtained in any other way.
4. It will sell on its own samples
and warehouse ceriificates. This will
again reduce another heavy loss
known as "City Ciop."
5. It will sell collectively.
6. It will sell its cotton as directly
as possible. This will eliminate sev-
eral speculative profits and many
waateful-methods.
7. It will determine the oost of pro-
duction of cotton. This will assist
in asking a price that will be satisfac-
tpry to both producer and consumer.
8. It will encourage and develop
the production of standard and uni-
form varieties, thus raising the stand-
ard of the cotton maiketed by the as-
sociation.
9. It will co-operate with other
state marketing organizations to the
end that better prices may be secured
and selling overhead lessened.
The Oklahoma Cotton Growers' As-
sociation Is endorsed by The I'nited
States Department of Agriculture, the
Oklahoma State Board of Agriculture,
the Oklahoma A. and M. College, the
Oklahoma Farmers' I nlon, the Okla-
homa State Grange, the Oklal^ma
Bankers' Association, and numerous
local farmers', businessmen's and
bankers' organlaatlons. -

The Oklahoma Cotton ti rowers As-
social Ion plan Is nothing mysterloua
or complicated. It is very simple In
its esaential features, and it may all
be boiled down to the ane wort
"Teamwork."
TeaiaworV has accompliahed won-
dera for mankind in many walks at
life and In both warlike and peaceful
pursuits.
The farmers of Denmark began to
try it about 100 years ago and they
found It paid.

years ago and have continued its use

The rainy weather has caused a
slight decrease in attendance this
week but the framers of our commun-
ity are very glad to see the rain as
many of them have already begun
'farming.'
A union Bible class was organized
last Sunday to meet at the school
building at 2:3C every Sunday after-
noon. B. H. Mullens, Superintendent,
and Miss Wylie Secretary. We have
an enrollment of 60 and hope to make
it 76 next Sunday.
Those averaging 96 and above in
our school last month, were Grace
Tipton, Elmus Bowen, Wesley Alex-

We hope to have more on the'honor

Miss Gilliam has been shunning
her school duty the'past week for the
more important one (she says) of
taking care of a little baby sister who

Dr. 0. E. Godard is one of the foremost preachers and revivalists in
America. He has held successful revivals in many of the larger cities of
the South and East.
He has been secured by the First Methodist Church to lead in a revival
April 10 to 24. Every person in Mangum is invited to attend and co-oper-
ate in this effort to make our city a cleaner, better place in which to live
and rear our children. $
We have thought about business, 1 leasure and all worldly things, now
let's pause and think of
Ged and Eternityl!
Do you want your children to grow up and face the temptations of the
world, without God? Stop and think one moment.
Now, all together—we can win, in His Name. _ _

years and proved safe by tnillions.
Take Aspirin only as told in the Bay-
