Are You Married ?
June brides in Oklahoma may
find it necessary in order to be
sure enough brides under the
statutes of the new state, to be
married over again.
The question has been raised
in regard to the legality of all
marriages solemnized by minis
tors ef the gospel in this state
since May 22d, at which time a
new law passed by the legislature
went into effect. This law re

Last week the New State gave
the particulars of a horrible mur-
der near Wilburton, where two
men lost their lives and a woman
narrowly escaped death.
Posses were organized and the
country scoured. Bloodhounds
were put upon the trail of the ne-
gro desperado, Johnson. The
faithful animals lost the track at
or near the farm of Jesse Jones,
•iglit miles southeast of Wilbur-
ton. At this point Ben Nowlin
and W. H. Andrews discovered
Johnson r u n n i n g behind the
fence 100 yards north of Jones'
house. Charlie Nowlin and
Cunningham were scouring the
country a mile and a half south.
Nowlin asked if the man seen
hiding behind the fence was the
same one previously seen stand-
ing in the lane.

The three men were in a trian-
