HOLLIS HIGH SCHOOL
BALL TEAM WINS
STATE CI
Our High ^School basebal
team attended the State School!
Meet at Norman last week and
demonstrated the fact that Hol-
lis was not only on the map but
was a live wire and fully "charg
ed" and now President Wilson's
over-coat would not make a
vest pocket for a single one of
our boys. Proud—why should-
n't we be?.
The) first ^ame was {frith
Muskogee, this was the hotest
game of the series. The boys
were a little rattled and when
at the beginning of the last
half of the 9th inning the scor6
stood four and six in favor of
Muskogee, the case looked hope-
" less but their old pitcher and
fellow school-mate, Happy Bris-
coe, who is attending school at
Norman, rallied the boys and
with two out and two strikes
on Ferris and with a man on
third- base Farris swated the
ball for a home run thus tying
the score, William followed with
a home run and the game was
won. ....
Moore and Galbraith were bat
tries in this game.
The second game was with
Tacumseh, and was an easy Vic-
tory for our boys the score be-
ing 14 to 1
The third game was with
Norman and 'was ours by a
score of 11 to 1.
The fourth and last game
was with Keifer and was the
final game for the State Cham-
pionship. Our boys hooked up
their belts and after a rest of
fifteen minutes proceeded to
lay the Keifer bunch to rest to
the tune of three to one, thus
winning for Hollis the State
Championship.
A line of autos met th« tvyvs

HOLLIS IS A
BUSINESS TOWN
It is a common expression
among traveling men, and men
who visit Hollis that it is one
of the best towns in Oklahoma,
and we are of the opinion that
the statement is not exagerat-
ed. livery kind ^f business
is well represented in Hollis,
and you can not think of an up-
to-date article handled in an up-
to-date store that can not be
found in Hollis and prices com-
pare with prices of other towns,
you can buy anything you want
from a pin to a thresher or from
a baby buggy to an automobile!
Our merchants are constantly
on the lookout for bargains and
are just as anxious to save mon-
ey for their customers as to
make money for themselves.'
If you are in the habit of bend
ing away for what you want,
just come in and look arourtd
and get the prices of your mer-
chant and then compare the
quality of the goods with the
cheap goods you have been get-
ting from ti]e mail order houses.
Tf you will do this we venture
the assertion you will never a-
gain 'be guilty of patronizing
mail order houses, but will
spend your money with the mer
chants who are trying to build
up^ your county site town and
build up a better market for
your produce.
