The young people had their singing
convention here last Sunday and they
were much pleased with the good

a nice closet for their organ

Oklahoma City Nov 28— With the
raising of the withdrawal limit from
$15 a ' week to $25 a week Oklahoma
City banks have started what is ex-
pected to be a return to a full cash
paying basis
“Eastern banks are now in condi-
tion to send some money west” said
Frank P Johnson president of the
American National Bank' “When
this condition is reached Oklahoma
City banks will remove all limita-
tions” The plan of the Oklahoma City
banks is gradually toraise the weekly
withdrawal limit unuil the limit is re-
moved The next raise wilt be $50 a
week and then to $100 a week -

The young people are highly thought
of by all who know them here and
they start out in ' life with the well

A father and his two small sons
who had lived in the mountains of
Arkansas all their lives finally got
ip courage enough to leave their na-
tive state and come to Oklihoma
They got off at Olustee and were notic-
ed by the usual crowd of loungers who
generally hang around the depot
looking around and often casting
heir eyes heavenward When asked
vhy they did this the urchins said
they were looking for the mountains
and one of them said guess we must
be on top of them

C N Haske'lwasthe principal-speak
ter at a statehood and prohibition
jubiiee at the convention hall in this
city last night which was attended by
an audience of nearly 4000 people
During the course of an address last-
ing twenty minutes he declared that
his position in favor of prohibition
for the state was known throughout
the campaign and that he was hot
elected to office under any false pre-
tenses He spoke of his reasons for
favoring prohibition and said:
“You have elected a man who will
enforce the prohibitory law in this
state”

plause and hand-clapping which con-
tinued for several minutes He urged
the moulding of public sentiment in
favor of the enforcement of the laws
declaring it to be a most potent fac-
tor in the work He praised the
county officers of the state in their
work of keeping the “lid on” and
complimented the local officers as
well as the city and said that it was a
matter of the law He referred briefly
to several of the provisions of the
Constitution The address was nec-
essarily short because of his leaving
at 9 o’clock for Guthrie

tea several days this week

ashore near New York and the crew
threw the cargo overboard to save
the ship When it is considered that
the cargo was lumber the conclusion
is inevitable that the ship must have
