OREA to meet
The Osage County Retired Educators will meet Thursday,
November 8 at 11:30 a.m. in the IGA Banquet Room. All mem-
bers and those interested are urged to attend.

American Legion Post 198 to meet
Legion and Auxiliary dinners and meetings are the second and
fourth Tuesday of every month at 6:30 p.m. State VA service
officer visits the first Friday of every month from 1:30-3 p.m. to
help any veteran with VA benefit questions or claims. All vet-
erans are welcome.
Elementary Veteran’s Day Assembly
Pawhuska Elementary will host a Veteran’s Day Assembly at
8:30 Friday November 9 in elementary RE. building. Chairs will
be provided for the adults. If you are a veteran or part of the
Daughters of the American Revolution, please come and join the
elementary in their short assembly program.
St. Thomas Episcopal to have weekly prayer service
St. Thomas Episcopal Church will have a weekly prayer ser-
vice for the community on Wednesdays at 12 p.m. In addition,
St Thomas will be open from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Tuesdays for
individual meditation and prayer. St. Thomas Episcopal
Church is at the corner of 9th and Leahy
Pawhuska Hospital needs blanket donations
The Pawhuska Hospital employees are asking for donations of
new or gently used blankets, linens or any type of bedding.
These items will be collected and handed out by November 16 to
the needy elderly in our community. A box will be set up in the
hospital lobby for your donations. All are greatly appreciated.
WCNOMA to meet November 10
Western Cherokee Nation of Okla., Mo., and Ark., Inc. will hold
monthly meeting on November 10 at Pawhuska High School
Lecture Hall. There will be a Board Meeting at 9 a.m. a Council
Meeting at 10 a.m. and a Pot Luck lunch. Raffle for Indian jack-

Pawhuska Trout Derby
The Pawhuska Chamber of Commerce is taking pre-registra-
tions at the Pawhuska Visitor Center at 222 West Main for the
PAWHUSKA TROUT DERBY. The Trout Derby will be held at
Lake Pawhuska and starts Saturday, December 1, 2001, from
8:00 am til 4:30 pm. Registration available on site. Prizes for
catching tagged trout and Drawings available at this event.

On Saturday, November 17 is the day to "Walk for Diabetes."
Exercise is a very important step in controlling diabetes. Osage
Nation Diabetic Program along with CHR, is sponsoring a 5
mile walk. This walk will be on the new wlaking trail of
Pawhuska. The walk will start at 9 a.m. and conclude at noon.
The starting and ending point will be at the Osage Museum on
Lynn Street. To complete the five mile mark, you must walk the
trail twice. All participants will receive a free t-shirt and a water
bottle. The sign up list will be in the Diabetes office at the round
