homecoming match.

to catch up. Some very exciting matches came throughout the dual,

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP)—A poor second half on offense out-
weighed a strong defensive performance by the Oklahoma State
women’s basketball team in its game with Colorado.
The Cowgirls, after hitting better than half their shots in the first
half, went 8-of-30 from the field in the final 20 minutes and lost 62-
58 Thursday night.
Oklahoma State (11-6,3-4 Big 12) led 38-31 with 17:27 remain-
ing, but then went scoreless for 9 1/2 minutes. The Buffaloes (10-7,
3-4) eventually moved ahead by eight and OSU got no closer than
four after that.
Jenny Roulier scored 18 points for Colorado, which shot just 37.5
percent and committed 21 turnovers. The Cowgirls also turned the
ball over 21 times, and shot 38.6 percent.
Linda Lappe scored 13 points for Colorado, while Chaquita Dil-
worth had nine points and five steals.
Jennifer Crow was the only Cowgirl in double figures, with 16
points. She made all nine of her free throws but was just 3-of-15 from
the field.
Megan Gregg had nine points and 10 rebounds.
7th Grade Girls
Split In Ponca &
Blackwell Games,
Beat Pawnee
" The 7th-Grade girls got off to a slow start last Friday night, scoring
only two points in the first half, in their game at Blackwell, but were
able to come back and win an overtime victory, 20-18.
The Lady Maroons got into foul trouble early (bonus in the first
quarter), and did poorly from the free-throw line, going 6-13, but
opened the game up in the second half. Leigha Layton had two 3-
pointers in the second half, and Chandra Kroll hit two key free-throws
in the overtime that put coach Amy Bales' Perry squad over the hump.

On Monday night, coach Amy Bales saw her squad get off to
another slow start, scoring only two points in the first half.
Cedar Staab's 3-point play in the fourth quarter brought the Perry
squad within three points of Ponca Lutheran, but the slow start, and
poor free throw shooting was the difference in the game, as the Lady
Maroons were 2-12 at the line, and lost by eight points, 28-20.
Jenni Williamson was lead scorer with seven points, and Chandra
Kroll and Bethany Day each had four.
