"ORIGINALS BY CONNIE REE" — Connie Mendenhall, right, is proudly showing off
her ballgown and the one she has sewn for Mrs. Gwen Hollingsworth. The mayor’s wife
will be dressed in a gown of royal iridescent purple taffeta, featuring black lace sleeves
and accent drape, with a ruffled hemline. Connie’s dress is of midnight blue satin, ac-
cented with a white lace bustle. The white lace is repeated in front, on the sleeves and
around the neckline. Connie has sewn four gowns for the Centennial ball and has altered
two gowns. (Staff photo.)
