New officers were elected at
the Nov. 11 meeting of the Hol-
ly Rebekah lodge in the home
of Mrs. Amy Davis.
Mrs. Clarence McGaha was
elected noble grand; Mrs. Earle
Huffman, vice grand; Mrs. Da-
vis, secretary; Mrs. Lawrence
Brown, treasurer; Mrs. D. G.
McGinty, trustee; and Mrs.
Francis Herde, captain. Plans
were made for the meeting of

ence with the Billings lodge
Tuesday, and the official visit
of the district deputy president,

The Junior Research club
met Nov. 11 in the home of
Mrs. Elmo Manley with 12
members and 4 guests attend-
ing. Guests were Mrs. Glen
Kreger and Mrs. Jack Klinger
of Tonkawa, Mrs. Gary Manley
and Mary Ann Manley,
The flag salute and club col-
lect were given in unison and
were followed by rollcall, read-
ing of the minutes and the
treasurer’s report. Mrs. Bruce
Durkee was voted into the club
as a new member. The next
meeting will be Nov. 18 in the
home of Mrs. Roscoe McLemore
with Mrs. Louis Gilliand as
hostess.
Mrs. Kreger reviewed the
book, "The Pace of A Hen,” by
Josephine Muffett Benton. Mrs.
Jerry McKeown drew the num-
ber prize and the hostess gift.

the guests and members, Mrs.
McKeown, Mrs. Gilliland, Mrs.
McLemore, Mrs. Lawrence

The fall motif decorated the
basement of the Baptist church
Nov. 8 for a covered dish lunch-
eon of the Triple Links Past
Noble Grands club. The Re-
bekah lodge was hostess.
The group repeated the Lord’s
prayer and rollcall was answer-
ed with a patriotic verse or,
“What I am thankful for.” Mrs.
Hazel Shawver gave the devo-
tional entitled, “Thankfulness Is
a Key to Peace,” and read a
poem titled, “A Time to Pray.”
A convalescent card was signed
for Mrs. Myrtle Gage’s daugh-
ter, and a sympathy card was
signed for Mrs. Clara Wallace,
whose daughter - in - law and
granddaughter had been killed
in a car wreck. The next meet-
ing will be Jan. 10 at Garber.
Mrs. Effie Postier, president,
appointed her committees for
the year. The mystery package
was drawn by Mrs. Postier,
and each member received a
game prize. Twelve members at-
tended from Garber, and the
seven from Billings were Mrs.
Lawrence Brown, Mrs. Amy Da-
vis, Mrs. Francis Herde, Mrs.
Clarence McGaha, Mrs. Maud
Hawkins, Mrs. Mable Temple-
ton and Mrs. Vera Barnett.

And Food Sale
Members of the Sacred Heart
Altar society changed their
meeting dates from the second
Tuesday to the second Thurs-
day of each month when the
group met Nov. 9 in the par-
ish house, Mrs. Emil Svacha
was hostess.
Plans were discussed for the
approaching food sale and ba-
zaar to be held Nov. 23 at
Britton’s Hardware. Hostess
gifts were won by Mrs. E. J.
Menihan, Mrs. E. Brinker and
Miss Cecelia Partsch. Mrs.
Brinker and Mrs. Carl Hoov-
er will be hostesses for the De-
cember meeting.
Refreshments were served by
the hostess, Mrs. Svacha, assist-
ed by her daughter, Rozella,
and Mrs. Brinker to Mrs. Hoov-
er, Mrs. Clara Hartz, Mrs. Rob-
ert Hartz, Mrs. Torn Houska
and children, Mrs. Jerry Hous-
ka Jr., Mrs. Jerry Houska, Mrs.
L. V. Stinnett, Mrs. A. V. Mer-
cing, and Misses Cecelia and
Emilie Partsch.

Mrs. Iva Welk and Mr. and
Mrs. Omer Rush transacted
business Friday and visited
John Casey, a patient in Enid
General hospital, and Mrs. Ca-

they shopped and visited Mr

Mrs. Neva Robertson recently
visited her mother, Mrs. Opal
Taggart, and sister and family,
Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Tipps.

Mrs. Heimbach Joins
Glenrose Homemakers

for a table. A pamphlet on

Aged” was given each member.
Mrs. Roy Yount gave the les-

herbs contest with Mrs. Ted
Walker winning the prize.
Mrs. Heimbach was welcomed
as a new member. The next
meeting will be Dec. 14 for the
annual Christmas luncheon in

The Neighborly Circle club
members met Nov. 10 in the
home of Mrs. Harvey Johns in
Perry. The group had lunch at

Thanksgiving supper Nov. 24 in
the Perry veterans of Foreign
Wars hall. The afternoon was
spent playing cards with high
score going to Mrs. Vernon
Gumm and second high to Mrs.
Ray Lemmon. Mrs. Ed Manley
won low, and second low went
to Mrs. Fred Kasper.

Miss Worrell Feted
With Dinner in Enid
Miss Doris Worrell of New
Orleans, sister of Mack Wor-
rell of Billings, was honored
with a family dinner Thursday
night in Enid at the home of
her sister and family, Mr. and
Mrs. Paul R. Ford Jr.
Attending from this area were
Mr. and Mrs. Mack Worrell
and daughters, Mrs. Preston
Worrell and daughter, Sarah
Jean, and Mr. and Mrs. Ted
Worrell of Garber, another
brother of the honoree.
Miss Worrell was reared in
the Billings area. She is the
only woman draftsman employ-
ed by Shell Oil Co. in New Or-
leans. She was a dress designer
in Chicago until World war II
when she went to work for an
aircraft company as a drafts-
man. Twenty years ago she
took a position in Houston with
Shell, and three years ago she
