eistvely 'If the rest of you stick
I stick"
An obstinate Immobility settled
upon the group It was broken by
the entry of a third worried an-
cial He made announcement
"Leave names and addresses at
Room 607 You will be notified when
wanted Miss Glamour will please
remain"
Gloria was the unmoved recipient
of a series of dirty looks as the
disappointed eight filed out De-
spite a nature inured to philosophi-
cal acceptances she was bciling
with curiosity when her new crony
emerged alone She jumped and
grabbed hot
"Well?"
"Crazy"
"You're telling me!"
'He wants to make me Queen of
the Screen Believe it or not those
were his very words"
"Why not? What else?"
"Too much and too fast for me !
to get straight But there sere too i
many of those darr-lings in it"
"Kiddo" said Gloria solemnly
"you're set That bird'll marry you
11 you play your cards right Nat!
orally he'll try everything else first
Maybe he did Did he?"
'If he did it missed me"
''Icicles for breakfast" was !L5S
Glamour 's admiring footnote to th:s I
''Now where do I come in on this?
Why is little Gloria invited to park I
while the rest get the skids?"
"Oh I axed that"
"Smar-teel But how in heck did
you work it?"
"I told Mr Snydacker I wouldn't
go without you"
"Just like that! Co where?"
"Moldavia N Y"
''Never heard of it"
"Neither did I"
"What are we going there for?"
"Somewhere in the midst of his
leaping around the room I got the
name of Templeton Say les as the
season"
"Never heard cf him either" !
''Neither did I"
Moby Dickstein entered Gloria !
made appeal to him
"Vy'here's this 11loldavia N Y
Moby?"
"Out behind Farmer Jones' tarn
I reckon That's one of the things I
gotta and out"
"Why? Are you go:utg too?"
"Sure I'm going Who do you
suppose really runs this show? Lat-
er A Leon'll be along just to make
I fourth at bridge"
"What about Templeton Sayles?"
This from Marne
"Templeton Sayles! Padlock your
virtue ladies lie's the world's tri-
ple threat to susceptible womanhood
if you let him tell it And does he
love to tell it! In a modest little
brochure about his fascinating self
I'll show you a copy of it one of
these days"
"Lemma attim" said Gloria
dreamily
"Loathsome toad!" said Marne
"I gotta line out to find out more"
Moby Dickstein consulted his watch
"The big fella wants a word with
you before you go"
They found A Leon Snydacker
doing the caged lion act across his
priceless rug while he absently
flicked at imaginary flies with his
polo mallet the gleam of inspira-
tion in his eyes
"This is going to be the greatest
the very greatest achievement of
my career" he announced solemn-
ly "Colossal doesn't begin to ex-1

It was Moby Dickstein's business

Era: of Moldavia N Y was his
present task For this purpose he
telephoned Jefferson Mackintosh
the literary agent NO Mackintr-sh

But he had a prospective client
from Moldavia corning in within a
co-:e of days He would ask this
Martin Holmes to call up Purity
Pictures on arrival Glad to do it
As Marne and Gloria spent most
of the few days following their tIrst
call being shunted about the Purity
pctuees offces from hurried ofh-
c:al to worried official all of whom
were preoccuped mysterious and
totally uninformative it was not
surprising that they should be in
Moby Dickstein's quarters when the
call came from the Mackintosh
Agency Mr Holmes of Moldavia
on the phone
"Let rrie talk to him" said Gloria
Thereupon the Inventive Mr
Holmes at the other end was in-
terested In hearing dainty accents
(for Gloria was being a perfect lady
at the moment) put the query:
"Mr Holmes?"
"Listening"
"You live In Moldavia don't
you!"
"Near It"
"Do you by any chance happen
to be acquainted with a Mr Say les
of that place?"
"Who?" said the amazed Holmes
"Mr Templeton Say les"
"Do I happen to be acquainted
with Templeton Say les?" echoed
the creator of that romantic
merit "I'll say !---" ilzt broke oft
abruptly realizing that this rniitoht
be thin ice "Say who is this?" he
inquired cautiously
You wouldnit know me"
"I'd like to"
The voice laughed "How do you
know you would?"
"Vibrations" said Holmes
promptly "Don't you feel 'em?"
'Not yet' chuckled the voice
"Pcssibly I might if I knew you
better But you will be nice and
tell me abiut Mr Say les witinl
you?"
"Well of course NI be glad to
do anything I can What is it you
want to know"
"You do know him then"

Deserves
The people of th 3rd Commissioneel District were
indecd fortunate four years ago in finding Harry G
Albright a Payne county pioneer who would shoulder
the resonsibility of Commissioner of his district
Th 2re is no better testimonial of his ability to per-
form his duty well than a casual observation of the
roads of his district as cempared with what they were
when he first went into office All public officials
have some opposition but the opposition in this case
would not seriously deny the fact that the roads now
in the 3rd District are boulevards as compared to their
condition when Mr Albright took office
Mr Albright enjoys the respect and confidence of
all Payne county officials and employes
You will also remember that much credit is due
him for refunding the bond issue in Payne county soon
after he first took over the duties of the office which
saved the taxpayers of this county approximately
$7000 Quoting the Stillwater Gazette:
"Mr Albright has made an outstanding official
with the knack of making the county dollars go as far
as possible lie has been progressive but not to extent
of unwarranted liberality"
The building of roads is a very small part of the
work of a County Commissioner The business man-
agement of the office which is very important to the
people of the county requires a considerable degree
of education and requires the ability to read and un-
derstand rapidly the various documents presented for
action Mr Albright is well qualified to do these
things as shown by his excellent past record
It would be well for the voters to consider thought-
fully the qualifications of all candidates before casting
your vote
