sand down and touch up with paint

Cheese-Vegetable Bake
(Serves 12i
4 cups cooked rice
2 packages quicken frozen
green beans
2 4 cups shredded American
cheese
4 eggs beaten
!4 cup minced onion
1 tablespoon salt
!it teaspoon pepper
Mix rice beans and 2 cups of
cheese Combine with remain-
ing ingredients Place in 3-quart
buttered casserole Sprinkle
Ivith remaining cheese Bake in
a moderate (350-F) ovenor 40
to 45 minutes or until firm
have become dingy looking This
is effective in a room where one
wall is papered Coat the paper
covering with two coats of lacquer
Before painting outside stairs
fill in all cracks with caulking ma-
terial Let dry and go over that
portion with the paint before paint-
ing the 'hole stairs
If you have patched cracks and
holes in plastered walls build the
patch out a little more than the
wall so it can be sandecrwith fine
paper to be smooth and level when
t dries
Install attractive glass or metal
shelves in the bathroom to hold
Jars of cosmetics if you lack space
in the medicine cabinet
When sewing a very lightweight
fabric like silk or organdie you can
prevent puckering by placing a
piece of tissue paper underneath
the material and sewing right
through it It's easy to tear off
when the sewing is completed

Death in Texas
Franklin Perkins who lists his
home as Oklahoma City pleaded
guilty to the abduction and
shooting of a Waco Texas fill-
ing station operator and was as-
sessed the death sentence
Perkins' court-appointed law-
yers immediately announced they
will file an appeal within 10
days
The jury deliberated about
two hours and 20 minutes be-
fore returning its verdict
Perkins 28 was charged with
the kidnap slaying of Ray Spen-
cer 51 of Waco on February
3
Perkins pleaded guilty and as
required by Texas law the state
presented its evidence The de-
fense no witnesses
Coal and salt don't seem to go
together but they often do espe-
cially in freezing weather It tak-
es 4110 pounds of salt to prevent
freezing of coal in a hopper car
