A TOAST TO MY
FRIENDS
Now that one more New Year
Is upon us once again
I'd like to wish you love
But sometimes love can cause
you pain
Of course I wish you health
and wealth
If that is what you're after
But most of all to get you
through
My friend I wish you laughter
Laughter like a rippling brook
And like the ocean's roar
Laughter tripping up your
walk
And kicking in your door
Try to laugh when you get
angry
It will take your pressure
down
Try to laugh when trouble
plagues you dear
You get more wrinkles from a
frown
If you should catch a glimpse
of me across a crowded room
I hope the twinkle in my eye
Will lighten any gloom
When life doubles up its fist
and hits us in the guts
Let's phone each other up
dear one
And laugh like we are nuts
And when we get our tickets
punched
Arrive in the Hereafter
I hope there is a Swingin1
Choir
And Dear God let there be
laughter
