Brady News
Brady people are already enjoying
the much promised prosperity inas-
much as no one in the community Ls
reported ill except Mr Bell who is
rapidly recovering from a five months
siege of illness
' The school reports show a gain in
enrollment with Jack Sylvia and
Melba Wright returning to school
Also Henry Cecil and Retha Snel-
grove are back in school and two
other new pupils
The school is putting forth a tree
planting program this year by al-
lowing any boy in school to plant a
tree of his own selection and size He
is permitted to plant it in his choice
of place and he also is to protect his
plant in his own way Each boy- who
plants a tree will have his name and
date placed on a sheet of metal which
will be attached to the tree
The boys planted twelve trees last
year and lost only four With the
above program we hope to shade this
old hill with a variety of nice trees
While the boys of Brady are in-
1Prested in the above mentioned
things the girls are inspired by more
poetical themes:
Winter
The winter wind is blowing strong
Blowing blowing all day long
Then the clouds will be dull all day
While the snow is on its way
Then the children happy and gay
Go out and throw snowballs all way
When the snow will stop its falling
All the children will be caling
Snow Snow keep on falling!

Home Electric Service 7c A Day
The people of the United States pay about 600 mil-
lion dollars a year for home electric service in
about 22 million homes This averages about 27
dollars a year per home—a little over 2 dollars a
month—or not quite seven cents a day
Thee total cost of government in this country for
the year 1931-1932 is now estimated at more than
15 billion dollars Applied to the 22 million homes
this means about 682 dollars a year per home—or
57 dollars a month—making it average approxi-
mately $190 a day
What a Cut of 4 Would Do
A cut of only 4 per cent in the total cost of gov-
ernment would mean a saving of an amount equal
to the entire 22 million home electric service bills
for one year
Electricity Is Cheap
We are not concerned here with the rising costs of
government but rather we are pointing out to you
whom we are privileged to serve how insignificant
your electric service statement is compared to the
cost of government Your home electric rate has
been reduced 30 per cent the past five years and
50 per cent since 1918
