mmhadn't much more than said that as we went past Roy Garten's place
and the telephone line streched across from the west to the east
side of tne road. Boyd saw the telephone line and ducked but Less
didn' t see the line caught him under the chin and he flew off the
back of the bus doing a swan dive backwards. We all thought Less was
dead. Earl Steele came along in a model T Ford picked Less up took
him to Yukon 12 miles to the Doctor. About noon he came to was able
to go back to school but he was pretty sore and bruised from the fall.
Some of the installers were J. W. Miller, Lawrence Preston, Harry
Dickerson, Guy Yowell, Harold Collett, his father A. E. Collett and
all the neighbors would all .half to go out and repair lines when
thrashing machines or big load of hay would go down the road and tear
down the lines.
Lawrence Preston, Harry Dickerson, Harold Collett and A. E. Collett
were some of the repairmen called out to replace a pole that had been
broken off or maybe it had rotted away.

Exchange over the Edmond Telephone Exchange came out as far as George
Hoover's farm, Hoover's had an Edmond phone and a Piedmont phone. if
a party wanted to send a message to a party in Edmond, they would
call Hoover's and the Hoover's would use their Edmond phone and relay
the message. Archie Dickerson had a Piedmont and Cashion phone on
Canadian and Kingfisher County line 5 miles North and 1 mile East of
Piedmont. Joe Faler had a Piedmont and Okarche phone, many other rural
