got 350 votes exactly
The only voter what didn't vote
was my wife's granpappy The
striped bass were running that day
and he went fishing in the sound
early in the morning and didn't
return until after the polls closed
In the runoff naturally both
these candidates really bore down
They each talked to all their own
friends reassuring the solidity of
that individual's vote Then they
went to work on the other fellow's
friends
Several days of this got them
exactly nowhere because if there
was one thing that town was
noted for it was the pig-headedness
of the inhabitants Them peo

In the heat of the argument
Whereupon Granpap just hauledl
