MUSIC FESTIVAL
HELD IN BEAVER
Sponsored By Beaver
Ladies Music Club

An operetta entitled "Heartless
House" was presented at the high
school aud:torium Tuesday even-
ing by the Beaver Ladies Music
Club a$ the second program of the
Music Festival being sponsored by
this club this week free to the
public The opening program was
given by the public schools on
Tuesday afternoon and the con-
cluding program was the entertain
merit provided by the Fine Arts
Study Club on Wednesday evening
The plot of the operetta centered
about a group of women who had
banded together to advance their
individual ambitions in various
fields of tine zuts and who were to
li-e upon their combined earnings
without the aid of men- Their at-
titude brought upon their house-

this slanderous title led them fq

against the magazine that printed
the article In the midst of finan-

remained unwritten paintings were
still unpainted and sculpture un-

maiden aunts decided that they
would visit the home with a view
to leaving in the care of these
manless wmen two charming
young nieces In order to impress
the aunts favorably the women
disguised themselves as very -
old maids It was arranged for
the two young ladies to romain in
the security of this abode where
no one would 'brook a cuddling
look" and a promise of a large
sum for to with MI endow-
ment to the institution was mab
by the wealthy aunts Later the
misropresentations of the occpants
of the home were revealed to the
aunts who withdrew their finan-
cial aid The slander suit resulted
disastrously and the finale showed
that old love letters photograph
and misilar possessions had been
brought forth from "secret nook
and hidden book" and Heartless
house proved to be a misnomer as
all avowed their intentions of
dropping their plan Of living with-
