The Youth Temperance Council
a growing organization for youth
held a meeting at the American
Legion Hall at Keyes on Fridey
night June 22
Twenty-four young people at-
tended and commented on what a
good time they had The evening
was started off with several
thrilling games led by Junior
Lawson
When the games were over the
club songs and salutes were
given
A discussion between Mr Youth
and Alcohol was given by Mrs
Wiggins and Mrs Rhoton Al-
cohol itself told the story of the
way it numbs the body and
makes it unaware of things a-
round it
Delicious refreshments were
served by the new refreshment
committee Mrs Johnnie Stewart
rind Mrs Bolin of Keyes and
everyone ate heartily while they
watched movie cartoons with old
time favorites Mighty Mouse and
Woody Woodpecker taking the
lead
For the next meeting Linda
Undemood publicity secretary
and Glenda Burns president are
planning a campaign to interest
more young people in our or-
ganization Meetings are held on the fourth
Friday of every month July 27
being the date of the next meet-
ing All young people are invited
to mark it on the calendar and
come to YTC

The Delphinian Gard n Club
met Tuesday of last week at the
home of Mrs Orville Moore Af-
ter a short business meeting Mrs
Hugh French gave a very inter-
esting discussion on "Gardening
in the Shade"

members naming a drouth re-
sisting plant DAicious refresh-
ments were served by the hostess
John Strong was admitted to
the Cimarron County Hospital
for an appendectmy Monday
night The operation was per-
formed by Dr Bayless and assist-
ed by Dr Hookins of Guymon
John is recovering rapidly and

and Psalms 121 were given by
Phyllis Wells and Zelda Joe
Morgan
The lesson closed by singing
"For the Deauty of the Earth"
by the group ard the reading of
the poem "Stir Me" for a bene-
diction by the leader

since 1928 hit a wide area last
Thursday afternoon Very few
farmers missed receiving severe
damage to roofs cars crops and
cattle when hit by terrific base-
ball size hailstones
Among the most severely dam-
