BE IT RESOLVED BY THE
BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF IIIE
TOWN OF DEL CITY OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1 THAT the prelim-
inary plans estimates of probable
costs typical sections and assess-
ment plat for the paving and
otherwise improving of STREET
DIPROVENIENT DISTRICT NO 3
comprising the streets alleys and
other public places set out in
the title of this resolution as
prepared and submitted by the
Engineer for the Town of Del
City Oklahoma County Okla-
homa are hereby adopted ap-
proved and ordered filed in the
office of the Town Clerk
SECTION 2 THAT it is neces:-ary
to pave and otherwise im-
prove the streets avenues alleys
and other public places as set
for in the title of this resolution
to do the necessary grading to
construct curb and gutter and
to make all necessary water gas
:Ind sewer connections
SECTION 3 THAT this resolu-
tion be published in the Del City
News a weekly newspaper of
general circulation in the Town
of Del City for two (2) consecu-
tive issues
1 SECTION 4 THAT if the own-
ers of more than one-half ()
in the area of the lots pieces and
parcels of ground liable to assess-
ment for the cost of these im-
provements shall not within fif-
teen (15) days after the last publi-
cation file with th Town Clerk
their protest in writing against
such improvements then the
Board of Trustees shall cause
such improvements to be made
and contracted for and shall levy
assessments and issue Street im-
provement Bonds with interest
at six (6) per cent per annum
until maturity and ten (10) per
cent per annum after maturity
for the payment thereof as pro-
vided by Chapter 173 of the Acts
of the Ninth Legislature of the
State of Oklahoma approved
March 23 1923 and Acts Amenda-
tory Supplemental and Comple-
mentary thereto Such protest or
objection shall be made separare-
ly as to each street or way so
named or designated in the cap-
tion hereto and such protests as
to each street or way will be con-
sidered separately

First Mooting of Yoar
Standifer Keas of the Adminis-
trative staff of the Midwest City
schools was the principal speaker
at the first meeting of the Del
City Elementary P-TA which met
Thursday night September 11
Mr Kea using as his subject
-the Levels program" described
it in full to a capacity filled audi-
torium of parents Points he
brought out were: the new pro-
gram only affected the first three
grades and these were the most
important in the life of any
child In these three years the
child should have learned to read
among other things If a child
can't read he can't do science
social studies arithmetic etc
Keas continued—if a child is
falling down on one thing he
wont have to go through the same
grade all over but will be coached
on the part ht is falling down on
In the five levels the pupil
must achieve before he can be
promoted to the 5th grade he
will not be passed to the next
level until he has mastered the
one before The Administrator
states "Our teaching purpose is
to do more and more foryoui
boy and girl"
The meeting was pi esided over
by the very capable Mrs Eula
Speck unit president
Giving the invocation was Ver-
non Newell a former mayor of
Del City He also led the large
group in prayer Charles Inglish
principal introduced his staff of
teachers and also ths! guest speak-
er On the business agenda Mrs
Ti E Irwin was elected historian
to replace Mrs Glen Loudermilk
who had resigned
Mrs Speck announced that the
pupils will only be having three
parties for the school yeer it
had been decided by the Execu-
tive Committee They will be
Christmas Valentine and the endof-the-year
parties She stated "If
we cut down on parties maybe
we can get back to education
more" She also added that the
P-TA has bee criticized as being
a social group instead of an ed-
ucational group
Refreshments were Served in
the cafeteria by the 6th grade
parents All children present
were entertained and shown a
film in the smhoors music room
They were served refreshments
there
VRY Auxiliary flews
The Bean Supper held Friday
September 5 by the Auxiliary of
VFW Post 9969 was well atended
and enough money was cleared
to buy silverware for the unit'
kitchen
The monthly hospital party was
held on September -11 at the VA
hospital in the MP ward Enter-
taining was Miss Rose Marie
Jones who sang a solo aceompan-
ing herself at the piano She also
accompanied David Hoard w ho
sang a solo Jack Humphery gave
forth with a guitar number and a
song To conclude the program
the patients joined in some group
singing
Refreshments were served by
the two atending members Mrs
O D Gazaway Hospital Director
and Mrs J E Curtis Hospital
Auxiliary chairman both of 9969
The 5th District Auxiliary meet-
ing was held Sunday Sejtember
14 at Post 1857 in Oklahoma City

The Epperly Heights P-TA unit
had its first meeting September
11 in the school 'cafeteria Mrs
Elmer Adams presided over the
meeting The devotional was giv-
en by Linda Yates and Kay Allen
junior students at Midwest City
highsehool Mrs Tommie Lee pro-
gram chairman presented a get-
acquainted game
Mr E J Evans principal in-
troduced all of the teachers and
gave an interesting discussion on
the new level program which is
new in the school Mrs Barton's
and Mrs Colemans rooms 'on
the atendanee count Refresh-
ments were served to about 275
members
