Work Well
(From the Southwestern)
Southwestern's lively young Bull-
dogs easily defeated the Cameron
Aggies Friday night 54 to 19
The game which was non-conference
served to give Coach Williams
a line on how his new material
'stacks up and from the showing the
boys made in the opener Southwest-
ern is going to have a lot to say
about who will win the conference
race
Rankin started Earl Holt and Art
Self at forward Otto Igo center
Bill Cooke and Pete Cooper guards
In the first minute of play IIolt
Igo and Self worked the ball down
the court beautifully and Art hit—the
ring for the first goal of the sea-
son in match play A few seconds
later Igo broke down the court
ahead of the bunch and dribbled
all the way in for an unassisted
two points After this start all the
Bulldogs took turns at sinking shots
running the score to the good old
Democratic ratio of 16 to 1 when
Cameron took time out
Southwestern's short passes were
working remarkably well for the
'first game the Bulldogs penetrating
the Farmers' five man defense at
will while the Cameron attack was
completely foiled by the Bulldogs'
determined man to man defense
Coach Williams soon shifted Cooke
to forward and substituted Harris
forward Maddox center Moore and
Martin guards This quintet also
showed up in great form the
closing with the score standing:1

"Leave It to Me" Said
Jimson and Made Good
"I've nothing in particular especially
to do tonight so I think I'll fix that
clock" decided Jimson Skupper "I'll
show the people in this house whether
put off fixing it because I didn't
know how or merely because I didn't
have time before!"
And he looked at the handsome
eight-day clocL on the mantel and
after a half hour's concentration re-
moved th back Dusting off the
jewel-mounted ditchy spring with the
end of his bandkechief and pouring
oil on the revolving gadgets and
shimpwinders he screwed the back on
again wound up the clock and then
shook it
The clock continued In a state of
Innocuous Inactivity
"Humph I" Jimson Skupper ex-
claimed to himself and this time took
the face off and squirted can de co-
logne into the left porthole Then
after breathing a prayer on the hands
and rubbing it in well he returned the
clock its face and shook It again
It remained In a condition of non-
committal somnolence
"Heck i" swore Jimson Skupper and
hurled the blamed thing forcibly into
the stone fireplace Instantly it be-

loftily and placed the clock back on
