American Negro Better Off
Than White Englishman? -
LONDON (UPD— A British
magazine said today a US em-
bassy report indicates the Ameri-
can Negro is better off than the
average white man in Britain
The national weekly Time and
Tide said that although the Amer-
ican Negro's lot is not a happy
one "there is certainly no eco-
nomic incentive for him to emi-
grate to Britain"
"And if he did" the magazine
said "would he really find the
social discrimination so much
less?"
Time and Tide said the embas-
sy report indicates the American
Negro is better off than most
people in Britain at least where
pay schooling and Wising are
concerned
