"Desperate Ambrose"
Ur derway
Here is the rootin'est tootin'-
est flinniest satire on the old
West to ever gallop across a
stage Now it all started when
Ambrose Groves and Bert Miller
a couple of would be vaudeville
comedians were crossing the des-
ert hesdin Californy way But
right out in the iniddle of said
desert they were booted off of
the train and onto their own
'cause someone had picked their
pockets—the pockets where their
tickets and all of their money
was So picking themselves up
they start trudrlin7 across the
desert and in a counle of davs
they blow into Dead Man's Gulch
the wildest the woollest the
roughest spot in the whole West
where everybody tights everybody
else and blood flows like Old
Faithful -
Now it ad happens that Homer
the Kid and his pal Gun Smoke
Carter the most hard-shootin
hard-ridin' cow-pokts what ever
straddled a sadad were expected
to breeze into tawn at any mo-
ment to quell tne shootin' So
when Ambrose and Bert hobble
in they are mistaken for the
West's most fearless cowpunchers
and 000h what happens to them!
Ambrose Is taken for the hero
Homer the Kid and from there on
out it's a knockdown on the
Nth lark

1Driver Behavior Depends
On Moods Says State's
Safety Commissioner
Psychology may be considered
a science confined to clinics and
college classrooms by people who
feel they have no time for such
things but it is a 'fact of life'
which often spells the difference
between survival or death on the
road
This is the thinking' of Okla-
homa's top safety man Jim Look-
abaugh as more and more em-
phasis is being placed on 'what
makes us tick as an approach to
accident prevention
"As a result" observed Com-
missioner Lookabaugh "the sci-
entist has been called out of his
Ivory tower to get down to brass
tacks with a public which has so
far not responded as much as it
stould to ordinary appeals for
safety responsibility'
9
tor the Vona Club The program
went ovir like a bang The stu-
dents would like to thank Mrs
Payne Mr Owens Mrs Kramer
and Mr Martin for their time and
co-operation on this program
Attention BOYS! It seems as
it Offend girls would like to men-
tion that they were dateless Sat-
tIrday night It could be that that
I s a hint No comments
Until next week we leave you
with this thought: Some people
like snow-balls but they don't
like being rolled in it!
SO LONG!
There's MAGIC enough
in your own two hands!
"To come to the points' Okla
home's Public Safety Commis-
stoner continued "a fight with the
wife a disagreement with the
boss or financial worries can lit—
erally be fatal when a moving car
is used as an instrument to ex
preu emotions A mixture of
speed and irritation can be as
dangerous as speed and alcohol" -
said the Commissioner "and in-
vestigations in this field have
opened up new avenues of ap-
proach to traffic as well as gen-
eral safety" -
Commenting on the growing
preoccupation with paychology in
safety promotion Commissioner
Lookabaugh foresaw the eventual
systematic use of the solence in
aiding drivers 'to realize the sub-
conscious source of factors co
tributing to accidents -
"Once you have the car and the
roads in good shape and the
driver properly trained and in-
formed you still have to deal with
the unpredictable nature of the
driver's emotions" Lookabaugh
stated -
"Driver behavior depends a lot
on moods brought about by social
pressures and stresses inside the
individuars own mind- and it is
with—these moods that ' the psy-
chologist has to deal" the Com-
missioner continued "We feel in-
creasingly called upon to point
out the dangerous effects of emo-
tional upsets on the responsible
operation of something as jleavy
powerful and fast as the modern
automobile" he concluded
In just a few short months you can put that
omagic" to work for you in the field of
professional beauty culture!
-
No need to let your creative skill be stifled
by the dull routine of just an ordinary job
In a few short months -- you can become a
professional beautician! You can have the
kind of career that will bring out the artist
