assistance for Charles Barnard
Dallas Mr Barnard recently pur-
chased 400 acres in the Spencer-
ville area which he hopes to -develop
timber on

had soine excellent production on
his improved Bermuda pasture
and that he intends to continue
with his pasture development He
seeded several acres of NK-37
Bermuda this spring
John Booth north of Hugo
reports that he has some beauti-
ful King Ranch bluestem pas-
ture now He stated that he was
amazed at the way his Kit took
(ver and dominated the coonpeti-
tion this spring lie is using it
both for pasture and meadow
A new conservation plan is
being prepared with Austin Ellis
on approximately 2000 acres of
land he has recently leased just
west of Roebuck Lake He plans
to drain the bottomland for estb-
ishment of alfalfa and hopes to
set up so it can be irrigated The
upland will be cleared of timber
and sodded to Bermuda grass and
clovers for pasture
Another large new agreement
in the planning stage is On the
New State Prison farm north of
Boswell in the Buckhorn Corn-
munity Much of it is Muddy
Boggy botom and is covered with
timber which will be cleared for
farming
