hard ones on members of Congress
Fourteen of our members have died
during this Congress largely becanbe
of the heavy strain of trying to get
peopla jobs aside from our regular
legislative duties Our hearts go out
to our friends who plead for em-

ble to please everyone even in this
the biggest program ever under-
taken by our Government

for its entire home electrio service
2 The average cigarette smoker pays as much money
in TAXES ALONE on cigarettes as he does for all
he electric service he uses In his home
3 The average home electric rates in cities we serve
hhve been reduced nearly 30 per cent since 1929
during the depression period We can think of no
other industry that can claim such a reduction In
the cost of its service or product
4 Home electric service today is 30 per cent below while
general living costs are 30 per cent above what eco-
nomists call the normal level of prices
5 The average annual home electric bill is only ONE
PER CENT of the average family budget of living

The cost of general living necessities in your home
determines directly HOW WELL YOU LIVE because
the average family Is on a "set income That Is
a certain amount Of money to spend each month
