The crucifixion of I Howard Edmondson is in full swing in our com-
munity The hatchet men have moved in and circulars are being distri-
buted like wild fire to tear down aid destroy the character and repu-
tation of the finest young man that has ever run for governor in the
history of Oklahoma I cannot conceive of any man especially one like
W P "Bill" Atkinson who professes to be a good Christian allowing
his päid workers to insert into the minds of our people the trash and dirt
that they are putting out on J Howard Edmondson It's really a
shame that a person in politics has t 3 resort to those means to try and
be elected to public office
If you want to believe these unfounded charges against I Howard
Edmondson then you go right aheaJ and vote for Atkinson but I can
promise you this if he conducts himself in office like he is running his
campaign the past ten days then we will have the blackest mark on our
state for the next four years that we have ever had since statehood I
am sincerely sorry I had to write this letter but I have known I Ho-
ward Edmondson all my life and I can assure you there's not a finer
Christian man nor a more devoted public servant in our great state
Please Believe me
