Question For The Ladies
How many times did you answer your telephone
today? Several times I'll bet Chances are you'll
get one or two more calls before the evening's over
I'll bet too you're usually in the kitchen when
you need to make a call Sometime just for fun
count the steps you take going back and forth from
the kitchen to the phone And count the times too
you hurry through a conversation because there's
something on the stove and you have to get back to
keep an eye on it
A telephone in your kitchen — where you need
it most — is just about the handiest "appliance" you
can have You'll be surprised too how little it costs
to put one in even if you choose yours in one of
the glamorous new decorator colors
If you'd like more information about how you can
have a handy new kitchen phone just call the tele-
phone business office — and we'll give you complete -
details
Recipe For A Pleasant Evening
If you were to write out a recipe for a pleasant
evening I think you'd agree that the recipe should in-
clude good fun good friends and good conversation
Well good friends can always be included in your
evenings even if they don't live close by All you do
is pick up your phone call Long Distance and with-
in seconds you can be talking with friends or rela-
tives wherever they are
Good friends and good conversation by telephone
add enjoyment to any evening Call someone tonight
and you'll see what I mean
' When you do remember to make the call stationto-station
instead of person-to-person That way you
not only get the benefit of low night-time rates but
you also save an additional one-third And that
means you can talk longer
Call by Number it's Twice As tact

Marlow Loses
To Lindsay
Marlow's basketball teams did
not profit by going to Lindsay
last Friday night as the boys lost
55 to 40 and the girls 38 to 31
One of Marlow's starters and
play maker Roger Potts re-injured
an ankle which probably
will kep him out of play in the
county tournament
Since Marlow's reserve strength
is very low in all around play-
ers definitely cuts a hole in the
oftense and defense Any one
ot the usual starters being out of
the game costs Marlow 20 points
This is the price a coach pays
for not having reserves ready but
its quite hard to win a Kentucky
Derby with a Percheon as some
horses only run so last
Marlow plays Empire Friday
night and with Coleman and
Potts both with ankle injuries
our chances are certainly ham-
pered Girls Los Close One
Marlow girls led Lindsay at
half-time 20-15 but was unable
to control the ball in sceond half
until we were in good shooting
position and they gradually run
the score to 31-38 in favor of
Lindsay Cleta Churchwell
scored 17 points while Neva Sue
