COINCIDENCPs long arm has
reached out to furnish a couple of
Chat items this week No 1: Soon
after Mrs Wheeler Leard came to
Hugo in the 19205 she had a
Junior High school pupil named
Ann Latimer who is no doubt re-
membered by 11 number of friends
here Mrs Leaad married quit
teaching reared a son and he in
turn married and had a son Now
five-year-old Mike Leard is a kin-
dergarten pupil in Oklahoma City
- and his teacher is Mrs Ann
Latimer Finch!
NO 2 COINCIDENCE had
Hugo's Dr Julius LaCroix gaga re-
cently Seems the Bob Wilkins fam-
ily here for a visit from Dallas had
a sick child and the father placed
a telephone call to the LRCM( res-
idence When he asked for Doctor
LaCroix the Man on the phone said
in a rather puzzled tone "N000
the doctor isn't here This is Ger-
man's service station" Just as Bob
started to hang up the station
operator said "Wait just a minute
Doctor LaCroix is turning into our
drive right now" Having turned
into the station by impulse the doc-
tor was quite puzzled over how any-
one could lunOw be was there for
he himself had not known it 30
seconds before he was called to the
phone The puzzler fell in place
though when it was noted the La-
Croix residence number is 1476 and
the German station number is 476
' PUSHBUTTON AGE never stops
bringing marvels into the lives of

1 Waterloo recently at the hands of
I a good housekeper who' Incidental-
ly is secretary to Hugo Area Man-
! ager Ralph Marshall When the Hal
! Arnetts - she's the PS man
ager's secretary - snugged down
under their dual control electric
blanket during a cold spell his side
of the blanket was sway and gone
too hot for him and her's was
away and gone too cold for her
It was the subject of much com-
ment between the Arnetts but no
amount of adjusting controls seem-
ed to cool Mr Arnett's side down
nor warm up Mrs Arnett's Days
later it occurred to her that with
a good houskeeper's instinct she had
automatically reversed the bainket
to distribute The wear and that in
doing so she also had reversed the
controls When Or Arnett wanted
to cool off be turned the control
down on his side- - and cooled her
Instead Peeling the chill she turn-
ed her switch for even higher tem-
