floss of our wives as the Home Demonstration the best kill in years
Poor old Guy Thompson he
really came in for a blistering
attack from his wife she
did not mince any words when
she said that if there was a
fishing contest on he would
be willing to work three times
as hard as it would require to
keep his wife happy by his
spreading a little paint and
doing a little hammering nnd'
sawing
of course I am temnted to
not tell what happened to roe
or what words passed between
my Flossie and me but since
we have always had a rule
that we won't publish any-
thing on anyone else that we
wouldn't under similar cir-
cumstances tell on ourselves
leaves me no other choice but
to let you in on the remarks
my Flossie passed my way
Like the rest of the wives
she wasn't very happy when I
offered the excuse I was too
busy to fiddle around with a
flower booth and it sure
didn't soothe her feelings any
when I told her I would get
a bottle of Arnica liniment up
at the Palace Drug Store and
give her for her sore muscles
When she got through telling
me what she thought about
her husband it was me who
needed the liniment to use on
a whole passel of injured
feelings Now see Paul how
you really fixed us all up? "
Now laying all joking aside
about us poor down trodden
husbands and how we are all
in the doghouse the truth of
the matter is I have heard
more nice things about the co-
operation the hubbies gave
their Flower Club wives
they baby sat they ate ham-
burgers chili hot dogs they
made up beds they swept the
floors in fact there was hardly
a household chore the husbands
failed to take on so their wives'
could devote their time to mak-
ing their county fair displays
in fact the only husband
that I know of who failed to
measure up to helping as he
should was yours truly and
brother I'm paying for that
——
I'm sure glad that I wasn't
a judge who had to -decide
which of the three Carden
Clubs had the prettiest dis-
plays because all of them were
truly " Blue Ribbon" entries
I think they did a remarkable
job and although it was their
first time to ever enter a con-
test of that kind One would
never know it because I don't
believe that anyone of t h e
three could have possibly been
improved upon
4t —
From what I hear up Vian
way our Sallisaw Carden Club
ladies can expect some good
strong competition from the
West End at next year's Fair
And it would not surprise me

munities are not contestants
