was brought home last Sunday I

of Drs Collins and Hicks Sever-

be brought home to regain
strength after which another at-

made Leon is yet in a very criti-

fortitude through his long suffer-

added about as much to his re-

while the doctors are now waiting I
for restored vitality Leon's cour-

strong as ever He rested well
last night and within a few days
he will be able to sit up some
Each day he is wheeled to the

There has been some talk of

Let's Have a Farmers' Trust?
1 The Press is in receipt of a
communication from S S Sitten
of Maple regarding the Southern
States Cotton Co-Operation but
Owing to the article being quite
lengthy and the lateness of its ar-
rival we are not able to publish it
at this time The object of this
organization is to bring the farm
ers together and forth a stipulated
price for their cotton The Press
is willing to do all it can to assist
the farmers to realize every cent
they can on their cotton or other
commodities and if this organiza-
tion can be successful in the ad-
vancement of the price of cotton
why can't the farmers control
the price on cattle hogs corn
or other farm products? They
could if they were controlled by
an organized body and make it a
heavy penalty tfor any violation
of the laws of the order It would
be nothing more than a trust to
be sure but why not a Farmers'
Trust as well as a Money Trust or
I a Steel Trust?

VIE MUST REFUSE
Many remarks regarding that
clutter on Main street in front of
the Walton building have been
made recently and we have been
requested to roast some one for
allowing such an eye-sore to re-
main on the street six months'
overtime We refuse In the
first place the town does not have
an ordinance touching on this
particular case of obstruction and
if it did we would be forced to
roast some one besides the fellow
we were requested to roast In
the second place: is it necessary
that every time anythint becomes
obnoxious on our streets or other
public places the Press must fire
away with a scathing roast in or-
der to have same removed? It's
the duty of all to try to keep our
town in chic order If it requires
an ordinance to force us into civic
pride then let's have an ordinance
of this kind and make it a penalty
for violation and also a penalty
against the officers who fail or
refuse to enforce it
