Four people were instantly
killed in a car-train crash in
Jones City Friday evening
The (lead are:
Thomas W Burrows 23 his
son Thomas W Burrows Jr
his son 10 Rodney W Burrows

burn his nephew 7
The accident occurred about
7 pm at the Gth street cross-
ing when the east-bound Frisco
Meteor slammed into the Bur-
rows pick-up truck
Bodies of the four victims
were taken to the Hunter fun-
eral home in Oklahoma City
where funeral services were
held Tuesday am They were
buried in Sunny Lane cemetery
Burrows and the three boys
had been to a midget ball game
at the Jones school diamond and
had started for their home five
miles west of Jones on Doug-
las boulevard The pickup was
thrown about 300 feet by the
impact of the locomotive All
the victims were badly mangled
Burrows' wife Mary was at
home listening to TV when the
accident happened She said she
heard of the accident rexogniz
ed the pickup by its description
and rushed to the scene in her

Mrs Burrows said the Black-
burn boy and his mother arriv-
ed here only a week ago from
Japan where his father had
been stationed with the armed
forces
Mrs Burrows said her young-
est son had "begged for three
nights to come to the game"
and her husband had made a
family Outing of the trip
Burrows was born at Rose-
dale lie lived most of his life
at Wayne and moved to west
of Jones 11 years ago
lie had been employed until
recently by a sash and door
company in Oklahoma City

last weekend sponsored by the
Harrah Round-Up club was one
of the biggest ever held Of-
ficials of the Harrah Round-Up
club stated that the largest
crowd ever to attend watched
the parade Saturday afternoon
and attended the rodeo

Seminole Shawnee Oklahoma
City Rangers and Midwest City
rode in the parade Bands from
Mc Loud Bo ley and Deg' Creek
participated in the parade be-
sides numerous floats from the
Ilan-ill school c u b scouts
brownies and the Kubiak string

Graduation exercises for 312
to receive degrees from Central
State college at Edmond will be

For the first time baccalau-
reate services will not be on
campus Edmond churches have
been invited to host students
and parents at their services on
the Sunday preceding graduation
