after several weeks illness his

Before he became a physician
he had been the railroad agent
at Newalla Ire then studied med-
icine and was a member of the
first class to be graduated from
the Oklahoma university med-
ical school in 1911 During World
war II he was with the U S
public health service in Utah
Idaho and Arizona
A general practitioner estab-
lished the first full time county
health unit in Oklahoma in Ot-
tawa county in 1918
Ile was adjudication officer
medical specialist with Veterans
Administration until his retire-
ment three years ago
Surviving are two sons Dr
Thomas C Points Oklahoma
City and Ben B Points of Tyler
Texas and nine grandchildren

base airman suffered bead cuts
Wednesday when the pickup
truck in which he was riding was
involved in a collision with an-
other pickup at the Katy rail-
road crossing at Douglas boule-

bert identified the victim as

telephone exchange to rehabili-
tate old lines and cable construct

new exchange office and install
new dial equipment
Contract for the construction
of the building to house dial
telephone equipment in Harrah
was let last week R C Schacher
of Pawnee was awarded the con-
tract Work on the building got
underway last week and should
be completed in March The
building will be of cement block
construction and will measure 2 6
by 28 feet
The new dial equipment will
replace the present facilities and
will allow additional lines for
better service and future growth
in the Harrah exchange -
McKinney said the new equip-
ment will also allow rural tele-
phones to be placed on 8-party
lines which will be an improve-
ment for rural customers now
served by multi-party lines
"The new dial equipment will
make better classes of service
available to Harrah customers"
NIcKinney said "and Harrah will
have a' telephone system second
to none in Oklahoma"
McKinney said the Harrah ex-
change will use a two-letter pre-
fix and five numbers when the
new system is put into use the
last part of June
The town board of Harrah met
February 6 and passed a resolu-
tion endorsing the company's
plans for expansion and new pro-
posed rate structure which will
raise the price of some services
and lower others It should be
pointed out that the proposed
new rates are as a whole lower
than the present rates
