The 20th Century club featured
a discussion on "Communism" at
their regular meeting Monday Mrs
W E &Mon Mrs E A Haines
and Mrs Nile Joachim presented
the various phases of Communist
b organizations
They told how the Communist

them instrumental aids to Com-
munism in America and from the
- findings of the Communists on un-
cl American activities
- They reported that 3000 students
are being trained in six aoldemies
' in Europe for infiltration into the
- churches of the ! world - teaching
e theory that "religion' is a
viciOus drug that is the dpiate of
) the people" and that materialism
Is esential for 'God and Man's soul
do not 'exist and therefore do not
matter'' They explained the Com-
munistic method of getting ino ed- I
ucation through teaching rewrit
ten text books school activities and
organizations and through special
research with its direct contact to
Moscow '
I The attitude of the National Ed-
L ucation Ascbciation against Com-
munist teachers is that they are
not free to accept the duties as well
as the privileges of 'academic free-
dom—agressive in their defense of
American traditions and vigorous in
their opposition tio those who would
destroy therri
The speakers also explained how a
mirority of Communists in a union
could dominate it and gave examp-
les Of their work such as the In-
ternational Longshoremen's a n d
Warehousemen's Union which has
practically bankrupt Ilawil through
their strikes since last May Not only I
has - the Communist infiltration' (
helped destroy the 'purpose of the
Labor Union but can destroy the
government 1
They first got into our govern-
ment through the executive depart- !
ment and 'federal aid Projects: The
Communist eaders are not 'the day c
laborers but the intellectuals Many
fronts are championed by American 1
born citizens who through frustra-
tion and desire for personal power
have lost vision of free people The
methods of the Communist to dominate-
your life from the cradle e
to the grave are accomplished by
trick fraud corruption of self con-
fidence internal revolution and ag--1
gressive war' Their greatest weapon
Is espionage through travellers and e
fronts a
The suggestions made to every
American are: kniow the facts be
Ion the alert and work as hard ag-

tecting a Communist is to ask him c
to give you two things wrong with
