Alcoholic Beverage Control Board
needs more power It liquor
wholesalers told a House com-
mittee Thursday
The wholesalers also told the
Ho Ilse Legal Advisory Committee
the state needs a floor under liq-
uor prices and a franchise system
Price fixing has already been
turned down by the House of Rep-
resentatives and the franchise res-
olution la banging on the Ilouse
calendar -
The dealers almost uniformly
stressed a single note — the ABC
Board has done as good a Job as
possible but It needs more au-
thority -
The witnesses urged dealers not
be allowed to stay in business
during an appeal but be shut
down immediately and be forced
to go to a diMrlet court to get
their punishment stayed
They also called for a 90-dalf
suspension - -
"A ten day suspension doesn't
worry 'anyone" said Clarence
I ord of Oklahoma City "but with
a 90 day suspensictn a man would
be out of business In no time"
